Celebrating over 50 years of scientific excellence & pioneering research from Professor Joan Steitz

Since 1969, Professor Joan Steitz has taken the RNA research community by storm, making discoveries that have transformed the field forever.  She is best known for her 1975 PNAS paper describing how the ribosomes bind to the mRNA via complementary base pairing to start translation. Her 1980 Nature paper on snRNPs gave ground-breaking insights into how splicing actually happens.

Come to Bermuda to join us in the celebration of the lifelong excellence Professor Joan Steitz has demonstrated in RNA research!
